Photoshoot From Hell: A Story of Friendship

After 4 months being isolated in my studio, I finally finished writing and recording Act I of my two-EP series:  METAMORPHOSIZED.

Now that I’ve finished the music portion of the work, I’ve entered the unfamiliar territory of self-branding. Amidst a global pandemic, it’s difficult to find the time to ponder my public image. It’s even harder to find the necessary resources (a studio, clothes, makeup, hair, a personnel willing to risk their health and safety for my vanity, etc.). How does one put perfection in a neat little package, especially if said perfection is camera-shy?

As usual, Emily King says it best, and friends do it best.

When all the studios in NYC were closed, Serena Romaya offered to set up a makeshift set at her apartment. When my clothes weren’t shipped on time,  Storm Ritter lent me her latest custom designs to wear for the promo pictures a DAY BEFORE the shoot. When I didn’t have makeup, hair stylist Nevada Raffaele showed up at the photoshoot with bags of makeup, and years of experience to fix my eyeliner, fluff my hair, and stroke my ego when I looked nervous.

I’m so lucky to have the friends that come running when I call. Without them, it wouldn’t be possible to do what I love and find the joy in everything we do together. If a friend is reading this, thank you for all the wisdom, courage, and endless favors. I won’t let you down.

With only love,
